If you don’t feel like cycling, stay aboard the ship!
The German capital and Berlin’s „bathtub“ await you on this tour, as well as the sparsely populated woods along the Finow canal and the river Oder, the Szczecin Lagoon, the island of Rügen in the Baltic Sea and finally the old Hanseatic city Stralsund. This tour along the Oder river to the Baltic Sea by boat & bike is also suitable for less-experienced cyclists. Your starting point is Berlin.
Here you can find more information about your boat, the MS Princess.
Day 1 Arrival in Berlin
Embarkation from 4 pm, there will be enough time to visit the Brandenburg Gate, or the famous Kurfürstendamm avenue.
Day 2 Berlin - Eberswalde, approx. 38 km/24 mi
You will first cycle through the Ruppiner lake district and then reach Oranienburg, which is home to an important Baroque castle. Germany’s oldest locks are located in Eberswalde.
Day 3 Eberswalde - Schwedt, 32-64 km/20-40 mi
Cycle along the Finow canal, which will take you to the Niederfinow ship lift and then further to Oderberg. From here you will travel to Schwedt, either by boat or by bike.
Day 4 Schwedt - Mescherin, approx. 30 km/19mi + boat trip
You will first cycle through the national park Unteres Odertal, then your boat will take you to the old Hanseatic city and former royal residence Stettin.
Day 5 Boat trip Szczecin - Wolgast
Today you can look forward to a great boat journey. You will sail across the Szczecin Lagoon to Wolgast, which has a beautiful medieval town centre.
Day 6 Wolgast - Peenemünde, 15 km/9 mi + boat trip
The day starts with a short cycle tour to Peenemünde, which is home to a very interesting museum. Your boat will be moored in Lauterbach and a trip to nearby Putbus is worthwhile.
