This bike tour will lead you along the rivers Neckar and Rhine through the Odenwald and Rheingau regions, as well as the UNESCO world heritage site Middle Rhine Valley. Castles and palaces, villages and towns full of timber-framed houses, vineyards and and wine taverns - this tour is utterly rich in romantic surroundings. The glamorous cities of Heidelberg, Mainz and Coblenz with the "German Corner" are well worth a visit. This tour along Neckar and Rhine is perfectly suitable for both beginners and seasoned cyclists and will commence in Bad Wimpfen.

Day 1 Arrival in Bad Wimpfen
Not as famous as others, but nonetheless beautiful and well-preserved: This town, complete with its Kaiserpfalz, town walls, timber-framed houses and fountain is where your bicycle holiday starts. Embarkation commences at 2 pm.
Day 2 Bad Wimpfen - Eberbach, approx. 45 km/28 mi
The Odenwald towers ever higher on both sides of the Neckar, while excellent paths will take you past villages and castles on widely flat terrain.
Day 3 Eberbach - Heidelberg, approx. 34 km/21 mi
In one of the Neckar’s multiple bights you will find Hirschhorn, perhaps the prettiest town on this whole tour. At the end of the valley Heidelberg, complete with its famous castle ruin, awaits.
Day 4 Heidelberg - Mannheim, approx. 25 km/16 mi
Today’s stage leads through Ladenburg, an ancient town en route to Mannheim, where the MS Patria will take you to Nierstein. Here, you can undertake a tour of surrounding vineyards and have dinner at a local wintner’s inn.
Day 5 Nierstein - Mainz, 17-26 km/11-16 mi
Today, you will follow the upper Rhine towards Mainz, where you will have ample time to explore its several sights.
Day 6 Mainz - Rüdesheim, 32-35 km/20-22 mi
The Rheingau region represents wine indulgence - you will be cycling past famous places and vineyards and, in the town of Rüdesheim, you will find the embodiment of friendliness that is so typical of the Rhineland.
Day 7 Rüdesheim - Boppard, approx. 46 km/28 mi
Initially by bike and later by ship, today’s stage will take you through the UNESCO world heritage site that is the Middle Rhine Valley, with its rich variety of castles and the Loreley.
Day 8 - Disembarkation and departure
After breakfast your bike tour along Neckar and Rhine with the MS Patria concludes. Disembarkation until 9:00 am.

In principle, you can bring your own bike along. However, please note that your bike will be loaded on and off the boat twice a day along with several others and therefore slight cosmetic damage to individual bikes cannot be ruled out, which is why we do not take responsibility or liability for such damage. We recommend reserving one the excellent rental bikes we offer.
